ET Intelligent Life

When there's an abundance of inter-related and supporting evidence showing that we are not alone in the universe, and general surveys show that most people accept the idea of intelligent life on other planets, why does no one seem to question what that means for humanity?

    Seen the all of the Matrix movies, don't recall if I've seen MIB 2. Could you be specific as to how these references relate to the question?
